How does Destroy The Block work?

Destroy The Block is Hood Warfare 2’s bomb mode and the only mode with one life per round. One gang carries the bomb and must plant it; the other gang defends its turf, winning by defusing the bomb or wiping out the attackers. The official Steam text states: “Plant or defuse to win, with only one life per round.”

That single rule changes the whole rhythm of the game. Instead of a continuous fight where deaths are cheap, Destroy The Block plays as a series of short no-respawn rounds — the in-game description says it plainly: “One crew’s got the bomb. The other crew’s protecting their turf. No respawns. Every round counts.” The build backs this up with dedicated search-and-destroy HUD widgets for scores, the player icon and the objective marker, plus a dedicated DestroyTheBlock site asset.

What are the four bomb states?

The build’s bomb state enum tracks the bomb through four named states: Inactive, Active, Dormant and Destroyed. Trapstar Games has not published what each state means, and the enum itself carries only the names — so this page lists them without guessing at which moment of a round each one applies.

State nameConfirmed in build
InactiveYes
ActiveYes
DormantYes
DestroyedYes

What should I equip for Destroy The Block?

Because you cannot respawn to resupply, sustained pressure wins rounds here. Big magazines suit the mode: you may fight several enemies across a long round with no fresh ammo. Attachments unlock through per-weapon challenges rather than purchases, so the Objective challenge type — of which Destroy The Block is an objective mode — feeds your unlock path directly.

Why does round discipline beat aggression?

With no respawns, every death is permanent for that round, so staying alive is worth more than chasing a kill. Traded deaths favour whichever gang kept more players alive, and a dead player cannot plant, defuse or hold an angle for the rest of the round. Patient play compounds: winning the first contact tends to decide the final fight.

Which maps support Destroy The Block?

All four launch maps: Downtown, Suburbs, The Trenches and Chicago Mall. Every map in the game supports all six modes, so Destroy The Block never restricts your map choice — pick the layout you know best.
